How could one build ad-hoc, peer-to-peer, event notification service?

To write "software that works the way society does," one needs a working model of "society," for which we substitute the idea of "sovereign's utterances" -- or, in other words, "Software that talks the way people talk."

People say something about something at a moment in time: Agency says Name has Value during a Lease. Our notation of that is A.N=V@L.

Just as XORP is an extensible router platform at the IP layer, we look to zTP as the foundation for an extensible router platform at the application layer.

Rohit's preliminary design for this is based upon a long-standing hypothesis that the various application-layer protocols share some strong commonalities. http, ftp, smtp, nntp, and others are all ways to moved named bags of bits around the Internet; he thinks there may be a TP that's analagous to IP at the network layer. Namely, zTP could be a decentralized transfer protocol that enables best-effort delivery of entire resource representations to multiple agencies...

While it isn't ad-hoc and peer-to-peer yet, the beginnings of our exploration of this idea is at tpd.
