OpenFindings
Everyone should have unrestricted access to usable demographic health information. That’s the premise behind OpenFindings and the reason CommerceNet is funding its development.

Currently, unless you’re an epidemiologist armed with ICD 9 codes, it’s almost impossible to find demographic health information, much less understand it. OpenFindings takes this complicated data and transforms it into straightforward graphs that show trends and geographical distributions—making it easier to see if certain occurrences of a disease are accidental or if there’s an underlying cause for the increased incidence. Eventually, OpenFindings will also facilitate comparative analyses between types of diseases, as well as provide a forum where people can have a dialogue about a particular disease and discuss public health policy.
